Benita's University of Kentucky Wellness Wiki

Welcome!

The purpose of this page is to share information about the latest events of the UK Health and Wellness Program.

UK Wellness

Welcome to a University of Kentucky Wellness Wiki.  I'm a Wellness Advocate; right now, I'm participating in Blue 2.0 Twelve Weeks to a Connected Library, a program sponsored by UK Libraries where we learn to use new and emerging technologies, such as blogging, social networking and other applications through experimentation.  I'm learning about RSS feeds and Wikis in the current module of our program, so I thought this would be a good opportunity to experiment with another way to dessiminate information about the University of Kentucky's Health and Wellness Program.  Here goes!

What do you do to stay healthy?

“The things I do are very simple. I try to walk, no matter how long, every day. Someone said to me ‘I stop eating when I feel full!’  It took me some time to recognize that feeling, but now I understand. It is the first time I feel full and not the third. I listen to other’s advice and ideas. I now feel comfortable asking for a to-go box when I first place my order at a restaurant. And I remind myself that I don't need two or three pieces of chocolate, when someone brings in a treat!” – Donna Bruszewski, Health & Wellness Advocate
